//BIOGRAPHY It took forever for Maggie Thomas to win over Andrew Sturridge. They were classmates since their early teens and while shy Maggie adored stubborn Andrew, who was mostly more focused on his studies and friends, it wasn’t until they reached their twenties when Andrew finally took notice to her and ask her out on a date. After their first date, it was probably known by the both of them that it was a forever game for the two of them. Maggie went on to study to be a teacher and Andrew became employed as a physician. The two waited a few years to get married, much longer than their families and friends would have been pleased with. They ended up having two daughters, Scarlett and Violet. .

Violet’s childhood was a happy and innocent one. She was always climbing up trees and always interested in a sport or game that involved some sort of challenge. She kept herself out of trouble and rarely got into arguments with her classmates. Her grades were average and she was always interested in her father’s work and anything and everything surrounding it. One of her favorite pastimes was doing at home science experiments. It wasn’t until Violet was in her teens, a friend of hers got her into trying out in a school play with her, in which Violet landed a role and she took a liking to the craft. Once her family saw her in the play, they raved about how well she did and how they believed that she should follow through with it.

Follow through with acting she did. Violet went on to study it at University and ended up graduating and pursuing roles (after gaining an agent) and landed her first role on a tv series in 2010, Just William. It was then that Violet realized that she was following the right path in life and that she wanted to get any role in a project that was best suited and especially challenged her.

Two years after her first television project, Violet was impressing casting directors all around and climbing up the ladder at a steady pace. She landed roles in the popular British show, Downton Abbey and a role in her first major motion picture project, Wrath of the Titans. She was proving more and more that her family was right. Even though she was being cast in these big projects, Violet was still kept her feet grounded to the ground and making sure she wasn’t getting carried away and letting it get to her head and ego. She was able to land a flat with a co-star from Downton and gain more independence that way as a person. She still continued her interests in science and sports, as that is what she’d indulge in during her down time, it being reading books, watching television or going out into the world and experiencing it. Her time on Downton was comfortable for her, the cast and crew became like a second family to Violet. She adored going to set and getting into character and doing her craft with those that loved to do it as much as she did, all whilst continuing a story that so many people loved. In 2014, she went in to audition for the role of a step-sister in the Disney live action adaption of Cinderella. Again, she impressed casting directors again, so much, that she was surprised when they called her back and wanted her to come in and read for the title role of Cinderella instead. After a process, Violet was named Cinderella. Her fan base started to grow after that as she was a fresh face for many. Again, she refused it all to go to her head.

After the whirlwind production that was Cinderella, producers and casting directors saught Violet out for other roles. While she began to wrap up her time on Downton, our actress was auditioning for roles to widen her horizon. While still attaching herself to bigger period pieces, she landed the role of Natasha Rostova in the mini-series War & Peace and the role of Elizabeth Bennet in the highly anticipated Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, amongst other roles. Her image has become likeable with her honesty about who she is in interviews and on the carpet. Violet’s genuine demeanor has been a bright light to the public and so far, she has been welcoming it all with opening arms and hoping that she is able to become as successful as she can be, so she is able to have more projects to pick from that can continue to challenge her and where she can grow even more as an actress.
